Healthcare-Technology Startup, Bridge Connector, Announces Three Key Hires, Opens New Nashville Office
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (June 6, 2018) — Healthcare-technology startup Bridge Connector, which delivers streamlined integration solutions for healthcare organizations, today announced three key hires. Joshua Douglas is the Chief Technology Officer and Andy Harlen is Vice President of Sales, both of whom will be based in the company’s new office at 1408 17th Avenue South in Nashville. Additionally, the Palm Beach Gardens headquarters will be expanding its team with Jason Raphael, Vice President of Client Relations, who joins from Accenture.
The new-hire news comes on the heels of Bridge Connector’s recently announced seed investment of $4.5 million, led by Tampa-based emerging-technologies firm Axioma Ventures LLC, backed by Howard Jenkins, former CEO of Publix Super Markets. The financing will be used to continue hiring talented developers and bolster its support, sales, and management teams.
“Since launching Bridge Connector last year, our rapid growth has enabled us to expand our footprint exponentially — both in leadership and geographically,” said David Wenger, CEO and founder of Bridge Connector. “Nashville has become one of the fastest-growing hubs for healthcare companies, so it was a logical choice for opening our second office there, enabling us to attract the industry’s best talent with Josh and Andy, while also expanding our South Florida headquarters with Jason on our leadership team.”
With expertise in process design, service delivery, and implementation-strategy development, Mr. Raphael is responsible for leading new-client onboarding, as well as account management and customer support. Previously, he worked for Accenture for three years, where he was selected to relocate to Sydney, to help overhaul the company’s Australian procurement practice structure.
“After working for years at Accenture, I’m excited to leverage the invaluable experience I gained overseas and apply it to Bridge Connector, where I spearhead their client-services practice,” Mr. Raphael. “When I learned that this industry pioneer has gained amazing traction in such a short time, it required little convincing to bring me back stateside for such an incredible opportunity.”
Joining the Nashville office, Mr. Douglas was Principal at D2 Health Inc., a consultancy for large healthcare organizations on integration strategy and architecture, product management and commercialization, and process improvement. Before that, he was Director of Implementation at Sandlot Solutions, an organization which provides clinical interoperability and community health-management solutions.
“Healthcare is my passion and solving the complex problem of integration has been my focus for nearly a decade. When I met with Bridge Connector, I immediately felt a shared passion with this team of talented, driven individuals,” said Mr. Douglas. “Our quick growth is a testament to the need for our solution, as well as our customer-centric culture.”
Also new to Bridge Connector is Mr. Harlen, an accomplished sales professional with experience scaling SaaS-based startups, who is responsible for Bridge Connector’s go-to-market strategy, new-business development, enterprise clients, and vendor partnerships. Previously, he worked at Virsys12, an award-winning Salesforce Gold Consulting Partner focused on healthcare innovation nationwide and PlaymakerCRM a post-acute specific CRM provider.
“I’ve seen firsthand the pain that integration causes healthcare organizations. The current offering of integration solutions are expensive, slow to deploy, and difficult to maintain,” said Mr. Harlen. “I’m excited to join Bridge Connector, which offers an unparalleled, full-service approach to the complex integration problem.”
To meet client demands, Bridge Connector will continue to expand its team throughout the year. Recently, they moved their corporate headquarters into larger offices in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and also upgraded their Knoxville office to a bigger location to better accommodate their growing team.
